Recreational trails for use by all

Welcome!

Santa Rosa Valley Trails Inc. was incorporated to plan, create, acquire and maintain multi-use non-motorized trails for public use in the Santa Rosa Valley and surrounding areas and to provide connections to other trails or recreational facilities.

Santa Rosa Valley is situated in the unincorporated area of Ventura County, California between the cities of Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Camarillo.

Since 2007, we have been granted easements on a number of properties in Santa Rosa Valley.  We maintain those and provide insurance coverage for the trails.

We have also worked with the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency to design and build trails and have agreed to maintain both Lower Santa Rosa Trail and Shooting Star Trail under their Adopt-A-Trail program.

In 2012 we completed work on an innovative trail bridge across the Arroyo Santa Rosa, which is now open for public use.

The following year, working with Santa Rosa Valley Riders, we donated a round pen to the facilities in Santa Rosa Park.

In 2014, we financed an environmental report for the Santa Rosa Valley Trail Master Plan.  This was approved by the Board of Supervisors and was incorporated into the county's General Plan in October of 2015.  Now Ventura County formally recognizes the Santa Rosa Valley Trail Master Plan as a recreational resource which must be considered during development review and policy development.
